Breeder Supplies

Please email us for recommendations for the supplies that we use. Generally, we are using double breeder cages where you can divide the cage in two so you can initially separate the male from the female. When the divider is removed, you have a spacious breeding cage and later on can use for a flight cage for the fledglings. The breeder cages measure 24x16x16 or 30x18x18 inches. You can order these from our friends at Country Feathers.net. They are fine people and reliable business people.

I use plastic nests that can be used year after year and shredded burlap that you can purchase by the yard then wash, dry and cut into 3 inch pieces and shred.

I an currently using Bogena that actually does a better job in covering the wings the first year. You can purchase this product on the internet. There are a couple of suppliers, contact me for that current info.
